Public funding for permanent carbon removal in the EU

The event, organized by DG CLIMA, will focus on exploring and enhancing the financing landscape for climate action, with a specific emphasis on instruments supporting permanent carbon removal.

Through a series of presentations and discussions, participants will gain insights into existing European financing instruments, such as the Innovation Fund, the European Innovation Council and Horizon Europe, and debate ideas to boost funding mechanisms for permanent carbon removal solutions.

PETCORE EUROPE Conference 2025 ''Critical role of Innovation and AI in regaining EU competitiveness''

The objective of this in-person conference is to showcase the PET value chain successes and challenges in the shift from a linear to a circular model.

The event will push the industry to act and join in policy maker consultations to share its knowledge and to encourage them to swiftly develop useful & clear regulations.

This two-day conference will feature high-level interventions from the EU institutions and business community touching on a wide range of issues, including circularity, competitiveness challenges, regulatory and legislative changes, technology evolution and many others.

Platform Meeting – Plastic waste prevention and reuse systems 

This event will explore the latest developments and challenges in plastic waste prevention and reuse systems, emphasising the need for upstream measures such as sustainable product design, reuse systems, and waste prevention.

Organised under the LIFE programme and hosted by the project LIFE-IP C-MARTLIFE, the meeting will showcase best practices and insights from various LIFE projects, aiming to drive large-scale reduction of plastic waste.

8th European Conference on Results from Road Transport Research Projects - RTR Conference

Going on its 8th edition, the RTR Conference is a unique entry point into the achievement of EU-funded projects in road transport. Youth Policy Dialogue with Commissioner Roswall

Jessika Roswall, EU Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy, will hold a Youth Policy Dialogue at the Solna Gymnasium in Sweden on 7 February 2025. 

Students aged 16-18 will have an opportunity to ask questions about EU environmental policies, share their views on their future and that of the planet, and engage in constructive discussions with Commissioner Roswall. 

The dialogue will take place in front a of large audience gathering up to 800 pupils from local schools.

After the Youth Policy Dialogue, a report will be published summarising the discussions and capturing the participants’ views.

Third Plenary Meeting of the Investors Dialogue on Energy

The event will garner high-level representation from the European Commission, and other European institutions, as well as representatives from international organisations, national bodies and Investors Dialogue Working Group members to share their views on European energy and financing landscape.

European Ocean Days 2025

It is a week-long event with a series of dynamic and interconnected sessions relevant to maritime topics. Each day features distinct sessions focused on various key ocean-related themes, allowing participants to engage deeply with sustainable blue economy, considering fisheries science outcomes, showcasing Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters actions, blue investments, and dialogues with key stakeholders, including youth. 

The European Ocean Days provides a unique platform to exchange of ideas across diverse blue communities, discuss about the challenges ahead, explore innovative solutions, and pave the way for concrete actions that address the interconnected ocean issues. This year, the Ocean Days are a key component of the preparation of the Ocean Pact, a reference framework for all EU ocean-related policies.
