Forética: Spanish Board of Directors Strengthen their Competencies in Sustainability

The Cluster of Transparency, Good Governance and Integrity, led by Forética, announces its new research project on the importance of integrating sustainability and ESG in companies’ governance models to improve ranking in Spain’s IBEX 35.

According to preliminary research, 21% of the companies on Spain's IBEX 35 have a specific commission to oversee sustainability. Companies with such a specialized Sustainability Commission get a 20% higher classification than the ones which don´t make any reference to sustainability.

The research project will also drive deeper into two additional topics; Due Diligence in the Value Change and the Future of Reporting.

Disclosing material topics can bring value to a company’s internal process and engagement with its stakeholders.

CSR Europe encourages companies to adopt a ‘Total Impact Disclosure’ approach to enhance social, environmental, climate and tax disclosure. In doing so, companies and investors will set the stage for impactful investments. Find out more here.
