Kosovo CSR Network Launches New Phase of Kosovo Generation Unlimited

Kosovo CSR Network, in partnership with UNICEF Kosovo and with the lead of the Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers are launching a new phase of the Kosovo Generation Unlimited (K-GenU) program which aims to unlock the power of youth by providing internships, mentoring and training for 10,000 young people over the next two years.

Kosovo Generation Unlimited is a multi-stakeholder platform which brings together the private and public sectors and development partners to foster collaboration and promote youth employability and empowerment through skills development and work experience.

The project aims to scale up this successful skills development and employability initiative through an expanded partnership between the Institutions of Kosovo, private sector companies, development partners and young people themselves.

Kosovo Generation Unlimited has initially started on 2020 with an engagement of around 1400 youngsters that have benefited their first internship experience in more than 250 private sector businesses and different organizations from throughout Kosovo. 30% of youngsters out of this number, have been offered full time job after they have completed their internship.

Kosovo CSR Network as implementing partner of the project, with the support of its member companies, focuses on the outreach of private sector entities and different organizations that are willing to support youth empowerment by offering internship opportunities for young people ages 16-24.

Kosovo CSR Network is as well targeting these youngsters, by organizing informative sessions in different regions of the country, to provide all the information and benefactions of being part of the project.

The first round of placements, to cover the period until the end of 2022, will engage young people in paid three-month internship opportunities in private and public entities. K-GenU is for all young people ages 16-24 years old from all backgrounds and educational levels are encouraged to apply.

The K-GenU platform, also offers young people many opportunities to develop their skills through tailored trainings, to connect with mentors who will accompany their internships and help improve their transition from school to work, and to get their first work experience through matching with interested employers K-GenU aims to develop skills and enhance the employability of young people who may not otherwise have opportunities to be empowered and has a special focus on reaching adolescent girls and boys and young men and women aged 16-24 years from marginalized groups and areas. This includes adolescents and youth from non-majority communities, those with functional difficulties and disabilities; and those from rural areas, as well as those not currently in any employment, education, or training.

Kosovo CSR Network offers the support to the youngsters and businesses willing to be part of the project, assisting in registration and follow up procedures, including monitoring throughout the internship.
