What to Expect from the CSR Europe Atelier on Upskilling

  • The Atelier aims at gifting participating companies with a tailored work plan to improve internal communication towards employees.

Upskilling and reskilling practices are nowadays at the center of the debate on the future of work and it is not surprising that many multinational companies are investing billions of dollars in job training. However, most of the time employees perceive upskilling as an adverse change, and not as a great opportunity to advance one’s career. How can then companies set up an effective communication strategy for employees?

CSR Europe will address this question in the upcoming atelier “HR Communication for Reskilling and Upskilling”, on 11th May 2021. The event builds on previous learnings and aims at engaging CSR Europe corporate members on:

  • How to establish positive communication between the HR department and employees.

  • Different strategies to involve employees in continuous learning and personal development.

  • How to empower employees and shift their mindset to lead their own careers.

We will further discuss how to best lead employees’ careers, assessing to what extent companies are responsible for their employees’ learning paths and how workers could take more ownership in their continuous learning. As a result, each company representative will receive unique, practical examples and concrete recommendations.

A TAILORED WORKPLAN TO IMPROVE YOUR INTERNAL COMMUNICATION

CSR Europe will create a work plan to guide participating companies in the development of their own specific improvement plan. The work plan will be based on the results of the self-assessment questionnaire that participants submitted in the first session of the Atelier.

The questionnaire investigated companies’ HR readiness for workforce transformations, with a special focus on employees at risk, as it assessed:

  • The level of communication between HR and other units.

  • Workforce mapping.

  • Vulnerable workers.

Who should join the Atelier “HR Communication for Reskilling and Upskilling” on the 30th of June?

  • HR Managers/Officers/Specialists/Business Partners

  • Learning & Development/Skills development Specialists

  • Strategic positions collaborating with HR Department (Divisional/departmental managers facing automation/digitalisation)

  • CSR Managers/Officers/Specialists
