IN-PERSON CLOSED EVENT | MEMBERS ONLY
With the approaching 2024 European elections, new priorities for the 2024-2029 period are in play, presenting opportunities for policymakers to engage with companies as strategic allies. At this critical juncture, CSR Europe has collaborated closely with its most proactive members, the European Commission, and key experts to align individual and collective efforts towards an inclusive European Green Deal.
As a result of this engagement, CSR Europe has crafted practical tools for businesses and recommendations for European policymakers, aiming to facilitate the smooth implementation of the sustainability agenda within the European industry. Aggregating the outcomes of this collaborative work, CSR Europe is working to deliver a Business Manifesto for a European Social Green Deal 2024-2029.
The Annual CSO and Governmental Affairs Meeting is an opportunity to reflect on the past five years of the European Commission and look forward to the upcoming developments, in light of the crucial European Elections in spring 2024.
The meeting will address the strengths and weaknesses of the European Green Deal (2019 – 2024) and consider how the EU can engage with businesses to support their efforts towards a sustainability transformation and just transition, towards a European Social Green Deal (2024 – 2029).
Together with CSR Europe members, civil society, and government representatives, the meeting will enable participants to exchange ideas and receive a firsthand, clear perspective on CSR Europe’s outlined draft policy positions, before the presentation to the outgoing European Commission President, Ursula Von Der Leyen, members of the European Parliament, as well as to the Belgian and Hungarian EU Presidencies of the Council of the EU.
