CSR Europe is currently looking for an intern to join its Membership & Services team in Brussels for a period of 6 months with the purpose of assisting staff members within the Business Uniting Talents (BUT) programme, which focuses on embedding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in corporate strategies. The intern will help companies implement inclusive practices, align with new EU requirements related to DEI and social sustainability, and achieve greater impact through their DEI initiatives.
Main Responsibilities:
Monitoring and Reporting:
Track developments of key DEI-related legislative files at both EU and national levels, including non-discrimination, inclusive hiring, corporate DEI disclosures, and social impact reporting.
Conduct research and write reports on a variety of DEI topics, such as inclusive leadership, intersectionality, workplace equity, and inclusive sustainability practices.
Project Support:
Assist project managers in developing concepts and preparing presentations for DEI-related workshops and trainings.
Support project administration, including updating internal documents and databases for the BUT programme.
Member Support:
Provide DEI-related EU information to members (EU insights, update calls, etc.).
Assist in the organisation and delivery of webinars, workshops, and training sessions on DEI topics.
Communication:
Contribute to the newsletter, website articles, and updates with a focus on DEI content.
Attend external meetings and events, including those with EU officials and other DEI stakeholders.
Main Requirements:
Commitment to improving the conversation around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in both the business community and EU policymaking.
Good understanding of EU institutions and policy-making processes.
Familiarity with corporate accountability, inclusive workplace practices, social justice, and human rights issues.
Enthusiastic about learning new things and has a proactive, go-getter attitude.
SKILLS
Good language skills: Fluency in English is essential. French and Dutch also required.
Good research skills: ability to find relevant information and summarise the essence.
Good analytical skills: ability to work with data on DEI benchmarks and company assessments.
Good communication skills (verbal and written): ability to provide both information in a timely, clear and concise manner; and to express ideas effectively, adjusting style, tools and mode to the needs of others.
Good IT skills: Demonstrable experience with MS Office suite esp. strong skills with MS Excel and PowerPoint required.
Good presentation skills: Ability to speak and present concepts publicly.
Good multi-tasking skills: Capacity to rapidly respond to a variety of diverse tasks.
BACKGROUND
The applicant must be either a recent postgraduate or a student who is required to complete an internship to finish their postgraduate studies.
The applicant should have an academic background in a relevant field (social sciences, human rights, business, European studies, Political Science). You may explain the link of your studies to DEI in your cover letter.
The candidate must be available to work for a period of 6 months.
