On April 19th, CSR Europe and the Fair Tax Foundation are co-hosting, together with MEP Paul Tang, the launch event of the Tax Responsibility and Transparency Index at the European Parliament in Brussels.

The Index enables companies to have better clarity over their tax practices and meet both current and future expectations of civil society, investors, and policymakers. It also supports businesses in overcoming challenges such as determining which data needs to be collected, how to monitor progress, or how to publicly communicate tax performance. This tool is the result of the collaborative platform “Responsible Tax” facilitated by CSR Europe and Fair Tax Foundation. The platform brought together leading businesses – Enel, Fortum, Grundfos, Orsted, Vattenfall – and organisations that believe enhanced responsible and transparent taxation should be the norm.

The event is open to stakeholders who are interested in:

• Discovering what the new Tax Index is about and how businesses can use it to drive forward a sustainable approach to taxation

• Learning more about the state of play on tax transparency in the EU from the perspectives of policymakers, investors, and civil society organisations

• Networking with experts from different sectors who are advocating for responsible corporate tax conduct
