CLOSED EVENT - BY INVITATION ONLY
Co-organised with GlobeScan
COVID-19. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Energy and cost-of-living crisis. Impacts of climate change. Upskilling imperative for a green and digital economy. Challenges to the social dimension of the EU’s sustainability agenda abound. As major 2024 European elections are looming, with new priorities for the 2024-2029 period at stake, companies are presented with the opportunity to help shape a Social Green Deal.
The Green Deal will indeed only be possible with European policy and regulatory approaches that see frontrunning companies as allies in the Just Transition for a genuine ‘social’ Green Deal.
CSR Europe and GlobeScan’s Sustainability Leadership Salon (1/2) will uncover the type of policy and business leadership that’s needed to help shape a social green deal 2024-2029:
Policy Leadership – in support of and beyond the new EU Sustainability regulations – which enables impact and system change through multistakeholder dialogues, sector collaborations and alliances.
Business Leadership – beyond a compliance-led approach to sustainability – which links companies to their peers, industry sectors, policymakers, investors, and civil society to build and implement joint solutions across the local and global eco-systems.
As we move towards a more sustainable future, collective efforts and an alliance for action between policymakers and business leaders is needed.
This salon will bring together the CSR Europe Leadership Hubs’ member companies as well as other companies and key stakeholders in a series of conversations designed to stimulate discussion & new ideas.
NEXT:
Ideas shared during the event will enrich the CSR policy recommendations that CSR Europe will discuss with present and new European Commission, European Parliament and EU governments in 2024.
The outcome of this discussion will be tested at the 2023 CSR Europe Conference, taking place on the 20th of June. The proposal will then be adapted and discussed at the second Sustainability Leadership Salon on the 14th of November. The final policy paper will then be presented to the new European Commission, European Parliament, and EU governments in 2024.
