CLOSED EVENT-BY INVITATION ONLY
The profession of truck driver is essential for our societies. While the focus is often put on the status of the road network and on the vehicles used, it is equally important to ensure that truck drivers have access to suitable, appropriate, and decent facilities when arriving at companies’ premises for doing the loading/unloading of the cargo. Drivers’ facilities are equally essential for the welfare of drivers, and its status have a direct impact on their working conditions.
The negative image and experiences related to drivers’ facilities are still an obstacle for many professionals who might otherwise be interested in the transport and logistics profession. It is the responsibility of companies to ensure that drivers facilities are in adequate use and functioning, offering some essential services for them.
That is the reason why Responsible Trucking Members have drafted and are implementing the "Adequate Facilities Checklist” to drive collective improvement in drivers’ working conditions, providing them access to better sanitation, giving them the possibility to report on conditions and defects, and providing examples of adequate workplaces for drivers.
