Ferrero has recently joined forces with a coalition of the government of Côte d’Ivoire, leading cocoa and chocolate companies, the Jacobs Foundation and further philanthropic partners to tackle the root causes of child labour in Côte d’Ivoire.

The coalition will develop a public-private partnership aiming to promote quality education and early childhood development for over 6 million children in Côte d’Ivoire through two initiatives, one focusing on quality primary education, the other on development and nutrition.

The risk of child labour is present in supply chains across all sectors. As highlighted by the COVID-19 crisis, supply chain due diligence is essential to the resilience of companies and to society’s well-being. Policymakers, business consumers, and stakeholders are increasingly asking companies to carry out more due diligence reporting and assessments.

But how can the due diligence process be efficiently implemented? By pooling together knowledge and resources under the European Pact for Sustainable Industry. Companies and industry federations who join the Pact will have the opportunity to benefit from the consolidated experience of our community of practice on Beyond Due Diligence.
