Business in The Community Ireland Launches Virtual Volunteering Publication

In July, our National Partner Organization, BITC Ireland, launched a new concept: Virtual Volunteering. As many Irish businesses have had to completely transform their CSR & Community plans for 2020 in the face of the Covid-19 emergency, Virtual Volunteering is a way to ensure company volunteers can continue having a positive social impact while also helping struggling charities and vulnerable people.

Virtual Volunteering isn’t a completely new development for Irish businesses and charities but it has taken on an unprecedented relevance over the last couple of months, as so many are working remotely, and companies have had to find new online channels to engage employees and support communities.
