CORE Platform: Empowering Women in Business
The ASTRA Erasmus mentorship programme is drawing to an end.
CORE Platform, Weave Consulting, & CEIP Piemonte Agency, have gone through great lengths to make this 6-month mentoring programme across Malta and Italy a success.
The ASTRA programme is set to achieve SDG 5: Gender Equality and Empowering all Females.
Multiple reasons encourage women to take leading roles! Research has shown that diverse leadership teams tend to perform better than homogenous ones. More women in leadership positions can increase an organization's success. Additionally, having women in leadership can serve as a source of inspiration and motivation for other women, encouraging them to pursue their own leadership goals. Having a variety of perspectives and experiences represented at the top can lead to more well-rounded decision-making.
ASTRA was set to have 22 mentors residing in Italy or Malta matched to 22 mentees. Eventually, the total number of participants went up to 58. The Mentoring programme and all its ancillaries have been documented, gauged, and measured during the programme.
To reinforce these concepts ASTRA designed a series of 6 podcasts. The podcasts interviewed female leaders both from the corporate world and non-profit organisations with topics tackling gender gaps in employment.
