CSR Europe Selected for the Global Gateway Business Advisory Group
Our network is amongst the 60 members selected by the European Commission to provide inputs aimed at maximizing the impact of the EU’s Global Gateway investments on digital, energy, transport, health, education and research.
CSR Europe is amongst the 60 members selected by the European Commission for the Global Gateway Business Advisory Group, the EU’s initiative aimed at promoting cooperation with the European private sector to narrow the global investment gap worldwide.
CSR Europe’s Executive Director, Stefan Crets, will work together with other CEOs and senior executives of European companies and business associations to maximize the impact of the Global Gateway’s investments in the areas of:
Digital: supporting open and secure internet
Climate and energy: supporting investments to achieve clean energy transition
Transport: supporting green, smart, and safe transport
Health: strengthening supply chains and local vaccines production
Education and research: investing in high quality education, focusing in particular on girls, women and vulnerable groups
In this role, on 20th October CSR Europe participated in the Global Gateway Forum hosted by Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen. This high-level event saw the participation of government representatives from the European Union and partner countries, as well as representatives from financial institutions, including the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the private sector, civil society and international organisations.
The Global Gateway is in harmony with the G7 leaders' commitment to creating a values-driven, high-standard, and transparent infrastructure partnership. Furthermore, this strategy aligns closely with the UN's Agenda 2030 and its Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the Paris Agreement, underscoring the EU's commitment to global sustainability.
