  • CSR Europe corporate members are invited to join the upcoming Ateliers on the EU Taxonomy and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive get access to the new tool that will help you meet the regulatory requirements coming into force from 2022 onwards.

With the adoption of the Fit for 55 Package the European Commission accelerated its efforts to reduce the net greenhouse gas emissions of the Old Continent by at least 55% by 2030. As a result, companies will have to meet new sustainability requirements as early as 2022. According to the new Taxonomy framework, companies will have to disclose their first Taxonomy Report in 2022 while the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requires businesses to publish an Integrated Report from 2024 onwards. How can companies better prepare to comply to the new requirements?

CSR Europe’s corporate members are invited to join the upcoming Atelier sessions – hosted under Chatham House rules - to gain a deeper knowledge of the current EU regulations and futureproof their business:

In the first session, hosted on 16th September, CSR Europe will welcome the EU Platform on Sustainable Finance to give an overview of the Taxonomy and the expectations behind it. The event will also include an interactive exercise on the Delegated Act on Climate Mitigation to provide participants with a better understanding of how to use the Taxonomy and how to align to it all the companies’ activities. Lastly, CSR Europe will provide and explain the exclusive Corporate Transparency Checklist, a new tool to help companies assessing their status and progresses vis-à-vis 5 main EU regulations: the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), Sustainable Corporate Governance initiative, the Due Diligence law proposal, Country-by-country reporting (CBCR) directive, and the Taxonomy. Aim of the event is to get participants acquainted with the Checklist and use it to assess their company’s situation. Participants can complete the Checklist with the support of CSR Europe and will be invited to share the results before the next session.

Building upon the results of this exercise, in the third part of the Atelier, on 9th December, CSR Europe will focus on preparing its member companies for the upcoming reporting cycles. CSR Europe will share common challenges between participants and provide useful practices to address them. More focus will be given to the Taxonomy with further enhanced training in preparation for 2022.

Corporate members’ participation in all Ateliers is strongly suggested. As a result, companies will be able to take the lead on impact measurement and sustainability reporting.
