On 20 June, the Responsible Trucking initiative will be presented at the CSR Europe Conference.
The global automotive leader Iveco Group has joined CSR Europe’s collaborative platform “Responsible Trucking”, strengthening its efforts to uphold human rights and promote better working conditions for truck drivers in its supply chain.
Within Responsible Trucking, the Group will now collaborate with Baton Transport, BMW Group, H&M Group, Ikea Supply AG, MAN, Postnord, Raben, Scania, Volvo Cars, and Volvo Group to drive tangible improvements in the working conditions of road transport workers across Europe. Since its inception in 2019, Responsible Trucking has already made significant strides, including the ground-breaking adoption of the industry's first-ever Truck Transport Social Guidelines (TTSG) and the ongoing development of Spot-Check Auditing Tools to ensure suppliers' compliance.
Alessandra Bacchilega, Head of IVG Logistics Excellence at Iveco Group, said:
Iveco Group considers this program as a precious opportunity to value a dialogue with our partners. We believe Responsible Trucking approach can lead to the best practice that can drive a necessary change.
The decision to join Responsible Trucking marks a relevant step forward for the company’s sustainability commitment on “Inclusion and Engagement”: to build ever-stronger relationships with stakeholders, continuing to work proactively and effectively to create an inclusive work environment.
The Italian multinational company - which operates 20 industrial sites, 29 Research & Development centres, and employs more than 35,000 workers – is aware of the social challenges related to the working conditions of truck drivers and acknowledges how real positive impact can be achieved only through cooperation between all key actors, aligning on best practices and sharing relevant knowledge.
