WEBINAR - Sustainability for Ukraine

OPEN EVENT

Co-Organized with: CSR Ukraine, GlobeScan

The war in Ukraine comes on top of a siege of unprecedented global events that threaten to turn back progress on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and undermine the well-being of people and countries around the world, in the first place for the people in the Ukraine and their families.

A climate and food crisis, the 6th wave of mass extinction, inequality, injustice, a global pandemic and now the war in Ukraine. The level of disruption and uncertainty is at an all-time high. The war in Ukraine is shaking the global security, food and energy supply all over the world, impacting the most under-represented and vulnerable groups that have had little say in the global system that brought us here.

For those working in sustainability like many others, the alarming state of global affairs has brought deep reckoning and reflection. How much good are we really doing? What if all our good work is just waiting to be undone? How do we work with governments and civil society to contribute to a more resilient form of inclusive, sustainable development?

CSR Europe, in collaboration with GlobeScan and CSR Ukraine, is organising a:

  • 24-hour web-a-thon - a global dialogue of 24 1-hour sessions that will be organized jointly with partner organizations around the world. This follow-the-sun, around-the-world event will explore the future of sustainable development and the role of business, civil society, and governments in navigating towards a better future.

  • Fundraise for Ukraine’s civil society - to help maintain and rebuild Ukrainian civil society by directly supporting local NGOs based in Ukraine.

The final session of the web-a-thon, “The Role of Companies in Fostering an Inclusive Just Transition”, will be organized by CSR Europe on 22 June 2022, 13:00-14:40 CET.
