EIB Supporting Partner of the European Sustainable Industry Summit 2024
The European Investment Bank, the lending arm of the European Union, confirmed its partnership with CSR Europe’s European Sustainable Industry Summit 2024.
The event, taking place in Brussels on 25-26 June 2024, is poised to bring together leading business, policymakers, and stakeholders striving to lead and deliver sustainable action over ambition.
In line with its commitment to sustainability and climate action, the European Investment Bank (EIB) has confirmed its partnership with the prestigious European Sustainable Industry Summit, organized by CSR Europe in Brussels on 25-26 June 2024.
As the only bank owned by and representing the interests of the EU Member States, the EIB works closely with EU institutions to implement EU policy. EIB finance and expertise backs sustainable investment projects in small and medium-sized enterprises, innovation, infrastructure, and climate and environment. Though 90% of EIB business is in Europe, it is a major lender around the globe.
For six decades the EIB has financed Europe’s economic growth with investments in almost all major companies and projects, from start-ups like Skype to massive schemes like the Øresund Bridge linking Sweden and Denmark. The EIB Group includes the European Investment Fund, a specialist financer of small and medium-sized enterprises in which the EIB is the majority shareholder, and EIB Global, the Bank’s arm for operations outside the European Union. In recent years, the EIB has been at the heart of the EU financial response to crises, taking a central role in the European Fund for Strategic Investments, which promoted growth after the financial crisis of 2009, and developing the European Guarantee Fund to support businesses hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
From its Luxembourg headquarters, the EIB responds to changes in Europe’s economy and in the businesses, it finances with new products and directions. In 2023, the EIB Group signed €88 billion in financing.
