Chief Sustainability Officers and equivalent functions plays a critical role in accelerating companies’ journey towards a competitive, inclusive, and sustainable Europe by 2030. In the rapidly evolving landscape of corporate sustainability, influenced by the volatile geopolitical situation, they have to blend leadership, strategic thinking, and technical skills to navigate the challenges posed by the green and digital transitions, collaborating with the CEO and other key departments. Not only they have to integrate sustainability into the company’s business strategy, financial performance and market responses. They also have to quantify sustainability impacts; transform investors’ expectations and policy regulations into opportunities; develop a compelling sustainability narrative that resonates with the company’s purpose; and dialogue with all the relevant stakeholders.
To facilitate CSOs and equivalents in this arduous task, CSR Europe is setting up Europe’s one and only Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) Network. The CSO Network will provide a platform for peer-to-peer learning and sharing in a secure environment, facilitating direct dialogue with representatives of the European Commission to implement lean and effective sustainable and socially responsible policies and regulations, collaborative frameworks, and investment paradigms.
HOW CAN YOU JOIN THE CSO NETWORK’S KICK-OFF MEETING?
CSR Europe is inviting Chief Sustainability Officers and equivalent roles to join the kick-off meeting, taking place in person at the European Sustainable Industry Summit in Brussels on June 25th, from 14:00 - 15:30 CEST. Membership registration is complimentary for corporate members, while corporate non-members can secure their attendance when purchasing a Summit ticket.
During the event, participants will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and discuss their role vis-a-vis their company's main sustainability focus areas. They will also learn from their peers about their work to integrate sustainability into their business models and processes to ensure value creation and long-term competitiveness. Finally, they will engage directly with participating representatives of the EU institutions.
