  • In a world of limited resources, the circular economy can help companies pursuing sustainable growth and profit.

  • However, transitioning away from linear production and consumption patter can be difficult and expensive. But it is not impossible. Find out how at the upcoming webinar “Circularity & Profitability” on October 15, hosted in the framework of the international Circular Week 2020.

  • Participate in our Community of Practice on “Circular Economy” to get unique insights on the implementation of circular principles in your business strategies and operations

Transitioning from a linear to a circular economic model is not a choice, but a necessity.  This year, Earth Overshoot Day — the imaginary date on which humanity’s demand for ecological resources and services exceeds what Earth can regenerate over the course of the year — took place three weeks later than in 2019. That is due to the impact of Covid-19 shutdowns.

As we are trying to build back better our economies and societies, we need to leave behind linear consumption patterns of “take-make-use-discard” and adopt instead a circular economy mindset to turn waste into resources.

This transition can be difficult and very expensive too, due, for instance, to the higher cost of recycled raw materials vs virgin ones, or the consumers’ reluctancy to buy circular products and services, but not impossible.

At the webinar “Circularity & Profitability”, on 15th October, CSR Europe will give its members unique insights on how companies are overcoming the costs and financial challenges of implementing circular business models.

Together with experts from academia and the first-hand experience of leading companies, such as Coca-Cola, we will address how companies can:

  • become competitive and growth with circular business models

  • solve the financial challenges of implementing a restorative industrial economic model

  • reduce production costs while creating new economic opportunities

The webinar “Circularity and Profitability” is be part of the Circular Week 2020, an international campaign to promote sustainable production and consumption.

CSR Europe, together with INNOWO (Poland), Circular Economy Forum Austria, LWARBLondon, Waste and Recycling Board (Great Britain), Circular Change (Slovenia), Circular Futures (Austria), Institut national de l'économie circulaire (France), will contribute to promote the idea of a circular economy, support sustainable business models and establish cooperation between interested stakeholders.
