Sustainable Impact Through Supplier Engagement: CSR Europe’s First 2025 Atelier Series

  • Discover CSR Europe’s 2025 Atelier series on "Suppliers Engagement for Sustainable Impact" designed to help companies navigate the evolving sustainability regulatory landscape and develop effective supplier engagement strategies for long-term impact.

To overcome systemic human rights and environmental challenges, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and forced labour, close collaboration between downstream brands and their suppliers is pivotal. This engagement should extend beyond price and quality considerations, focusing instead on fostering partnerships that pursue concrete sustainability objectives. To support its members in this effort, CSR Europe is organizing an Atelier series titled "Suppliers Engagement for Sustainable Impact", spanning three events between March and July 2025.

The series is designed to equip corporate members with a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with developing mature and advanced supplier engagement strategies, providing them with best practices for leveraging sustainability as a strategic asset to drive long-term, collaborative value creation.

Effective supplier engagement has become even more crucial in today’s rapidly evolving sustainability regulatory landscape. The European Union has introduced various legislative measures to promote sustainability across global supply chains, including the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), the recently adopted Forced Labour Regulation, the Deforestation Regulation, the Battery Regulation, and others.

The series will develop in the first half of 2025, and includes 2 online events and 1 in-presence Bootcamp:

  1. Webinar I: Modern Approaches to Supplier Engagement (March 19, 2025, 10:30-12:00 CET, online).

  2. Two-day In-person Bootcamp: Current Practices and Future Trends in Advanced Supplier Engagement (May 6-7, 2025, Brussels)

    • Day 1: Engaging Suppliers in Sustainability: Building an Effective Supplier Engagement Strategy

    • Day 2: Responsible Purchasing Practices: The Power of Collaboration for Growth and Competitiveness

  3. Webinar II: Model Contract Clauses in Suppliers Engagement (July 8, 2025, 10:30-12:00 CET, online)

By attending these events, corporate members will obtain a comprehensive understanding of emerging trends and best practices for collaborating with suppliers on sustainability issues, with the opportunity to learn how to develop a fully integrated supplier engagement strategy tailored to high-risk and strategic suppliers, moving beyond a risk-based approach.

Additionally, they will gain valuable insights into EU legislative requirements for supplier collaboration and responsible sourcing. Finally, attendees will deepen their knowledge of Responsible Purchasing Practices and other tools and frameworks for enhanced supplier collaboration, such as Model Contract Clauses.

These sessions are tailored for Sustainability Managers, Supply Chain and Procurement Managers, Compliance Officers, ESG Data Manager Officers, and Audit and Risk Management Officers.

Participating in this Atelier Series presents a valuable opportunity for companies to refine their supplier engagement strategies, exchange insights with industry peers, and align with the evolving sustainability regulatory framework. Ultimately, this will strengthen their competitiveness and position them as leaders in sustainable and responsible business practices.
