Solvay One Planet First Year Achievements

It has been one year since Solvay launched One Planet, a roadmap for sustainable progress that increased and broadened its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments.

In 2020, despite the major disruptions caused by Covid-19, Solvay increased its ambitions, raising the bar in terms of climate and resource objectives, while continuing to promote a better life for all Solvay employees.

Solvay One Planet is centered around three pillars :

Climate Change: by 2030, Solvay will work to fight climate change by phasing out coal-based energy and cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 26%.

Resource Scarcity: Solvay will reduce resource consumption by generating 65% of our revenue from sustainable solutions and more than doubling our circular sales.

Better Life: Solvay continues to improve quality of life by aiming for zero accidents and accelerating inclusion and diversity in its workforce.

Additionally, Solvay is hard at work building a circular ecosystem, reaching out to partners all along the value chain in order to use more waste as raw materials, boost recycling and promote the switch to biomass energy.

All these actions are the consequence of the reinforcement of Solvay One Planet goals.
