Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) skills are in high demand in the job market as they are critical to solving the world’s biggest sustainability challenges. The importance of STEM has become increasingly evident during the current pandemic with scientists researching vaccines, engineers working to design and ramp up the production of protective equipment, and ICT services ensuring connectivity and remote work and education.
Nevertheless, there is a lack of STEM professionals and diversity in STEM fields. In this respect, companies are uniquely positioned to bridge the skills and gender gap. With dedicated STEM programmes, companies can positively influence the studies and careers of young people. However, if companies want to scale-up their impact, they need to liaise with educational institutions and other key stakeholders.
Join this roundtable to discover the initiative Together 4 STEM and how its partners are effectively collaborating to address the lack of STEM professionals and diversity in STEM fields.
